Prince George resident receives life changing Multiple Sclerosis treatment

Prince George resident, Ashley Huard recently embarked on a treatment that has dramatically improved her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) symptoms.

Recently, Huard visited a PoNS Treatment™  clinic in Surrey and was given treatment over 14 weeks that improved her ability to walk and drastically increased her quality of life.

Huard says she used to avoid going out in public because she didn’t want others to see her stumble, lose balance or see her depending on objects to keep stable

“When walking, I no longer need to hold my child’s hand at all times,” explained Huard, “because of my improved gait, I have more balance and stamina and I’m not so exhausted within a few hours of walking.”

Huard decided not to take any allopathic modern medication for her MS when she was first diagnosed 6 years ago and was inspired by her late father to pursue the treatment.

The Portable Neuromodulation Stimulator (PoNS™) device works to enable the brain’s ability to form new connections, which can help with the patient’s balance.

Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world and according to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, women are more much likely to develop the condition than men.

Currently, the treatment is available in over 30 clinics across Canada, 4 of which are in BC.

The treatment is available for anyone with mild to moderate MS or concussion symptoms.
