A man who was wanted for a Calgary murder and was then shot and killed near the US border has been connected to Prince George.
According to Alberta RCMP, 20 year old Jamison Childress, along with three other men, were wanted for the murder of a Calgary man from earlier this month.
Constable Jason Curtis with K Division Strategic Communications says RCMP was pursuing a warrant for first degree murder.
“With regards to the murder of Brando Walker at the time when Mr. Childress was killed by US Border Services,” says Curtis, “he was from Prince George, BC and he was 20 years old.”
Childress was shot by US Border Patrol officers on Thursday as he tried to sneak into the US at the Sumas border and was acting erratic.
Childress was set to make a court appearance on Friday for mischief under $5000.
