PG police arrest package stealing offender

A “porch pirate” has been nabbed by the Prince George RCMP.

The detachment received a report of a suspect stealing packages from a residence located on the 1600 block of Gillett Street just after 1pm on Thursday (March 11th).

The homeowner saw a man on their front door surveillance and stole two packages from the front steps.

Less than 45 minutes later, officers arrested the suspect.

Police identified him as 40-year-old Jeffrey Krafczyk, who is known to police.

He was transported to the detachment and attended court.

“The B.C. Prosecution Service approved one charge of Theft under $5,000 and one charge of Fail to comply with probation against Mr. Krafczyk,” stated Cst. Jennifer Cooper.

Krafczyk is back in the community on a release order until his next court appearance at the end of March.
