Eight arrested in Pioneer Street drug bust: Prince George RCMP

Eight people were arrested last week as a result of a drug trafficking investigation that turned up suspected meth, fentanyl, and illicit prescription drugs as well as other associated paraphernalia, say Prince George RCMP.

According to police, two people were held on outstanding arrest warrants and six were released pending the investigation’s outcome.

Mounties say the bust occurred last Wednesday evening (April 28) at a house on the 100 block of Pioneer Avenue — the subject of a previous warrant earlier this year.

Both the residents, known to be violent, and the property are known to police however all eight were arrested without incident.

“In this instance, investigators located what appears to be prepackaged fentanyl consistent with what police are seeing in the downtown core. It is our belief that what members seized was destined for downtown. Even a minor enforcement action against those profiting by selling fentanyl in the midst of the opioid crisis is a positive victory,” said Sgt. Chamberlain, commander of the Street Crew Unit.

Anyone with information is asked to contact RCMP or Crimestoppers.
