Prince George’s weekly COVID-19 case counts have flatlined for the third week in a row.
For the past three weeks, the Prince George local health area has seen 26 cases of COVID-19.
According to the BC Centre for Disease Control, an average of 0.1 to 5.0 cases are being identified daily per every 100,000 people in the area.
Between May 9th to 15th, the Nechako health area saw a drop in case counts, after reporting only one case.
Meanwhile, Quesnel saw a pretty substantial hike as the area saw 11 cases during this time frame, up from the previous week’s mark of 6.
The vaccination efforts being made in the Peace River North and South regions are making quite an impact in the areas.
Peace River North saw 37 cases in this timeframe, dipping from the previous weekly count of 45, while Peace River South dropped from 34 to 16.
This comes as Dawson Creek, located in the Peace River South area, and Fort St. John in Peace River North had vaccination efforts amplified after they were identified as high transmission neighborhoods.
There are two active COVID-19 outbreaks in Fort St. John, one at the BC Hydro Site C worksite and the other at the Heritage Manor II assisted living facility.
Cases in Fort Nelson dropped from 5 to 2, a dip that occurred only weeks after the Fort Nelson area was identified as a high transmission neighborhood.
