Len Thony reaches historic milestone as Spruce Credit Union Board Director

A founding member of Spruce Credit Union in Prince George is celebrating his 50th year as Board Director.

Len Thony became a Director at just 20 years of age and also carried the roles of Chair and Vice-Chair for four and a half decades.

At their Annual General Meeting, the credit union named the boardroom in his honour.

“My journey with the credit union feels a bit like raising a child. I started in 1969 when there were very few dollars on deposit and today I am so proud of the Credit Union and how far we’ve come. Thank you to the members for providing your support over the years and to my wife, Dorothy, for understanding my desire to be a part of the growth and success of the Credit Union.”

Thony plans to continue his role as 2nd Vice-Chair.
