Crosswalk lights are being installed in front of PG University Hospital

The intersection of 15th Avenue and Alward Street is getting a flashing beacon system installed for pedestrians.

The project is expected to be completed by the beginning of October.

202 crosswalks across the city were assessed in 2020, and 43 were recommended for upgrade or installation, 26 are existing crosswalks, and 17 are new crosswalks.

Intersections like 15th and Irwin Street have already seen crosswalk lights installed as part of the City’s Pedestrian Crossing Strategy

Day one of the Special Olympics BC Summer Games is in the books.  Nearly 900 athletes braved a rainy day in Prince George as they took part in ten sports today (Friday), with the action continuing tomorrow.
