WHL (PG Cougars)

The Prince George Cougars have won four straight games, all against the Victoria Royals. In the four games, P.G. has outscored Victoria 16-5, including 4-1 on Saturday in the provincial capital. The (4-3) Cougars host the (1-8) Royals again Wednesday in Prince George. Victoria has lost seven straight.

Three Canadian NHL teams are in action tonight (Monday): Toronto at Carolina, Calgary at NY Rangers, and Ottawa hosting Washington.

The (3-2-1) Vancouver Canucks entertain the Minnesota Wild Tuesday night at 7:00 in their home opener. The Canucks are coming off Saturday’s 4-2 victory over Seattle in the Kraken’s home debut.

The (5-4-0-1) Northern Capitals are in 3rd place in the 5-team league and will host the (6-4) Thompson-Okanagan Lakers Saturday night at 6 and Sunday morning at 8 at Kin 2.

The (2-4-0-2) Cariboo Cougars U15 team lost to the (5-3) Okanagan Rockets in Kelowna 4-2 on Saturday and 4-3 in overtime on Sunday.

The U15 Cats will be home to the (1-7) South Island Royals on Saturday and Sunday. Opening faceoffs are 1:15 p.m. and 7:15 a.m. at Kin 1.

 

BCHL (PG Spruce Kings)

The (5-1) Prince George Spruce Kings play their next two games against the (5-0) Vees; Wednesday in Prince George and Friday in Penticton.

The Spruce Kings won both of their games at the BCHL Showcase in Chilliwack: 4-1 over Wenatchee on Wednesday and 3-2 over Victoria on Thursday.

The UNBC soccer teams have concluded their season. The men finished sixth out of seven teams with two wins, five losses, and five ties while the women ended up last with one win, nine losses, and two ties.

The Canada West basketball season will begin this upcoming weekend. The UNBC Timberwolves visit Thompson Rivers Friday night at 5:00 and 7:00 and the Fraser Valley Cascades Saturday night at the same time.

The Cardinals improved to 7-0 to remain the NFL’s only unbeaten team. Arizona will host (6-1) Green Bay on Thursday.

The 10-1 Blue Bombers clinched first place.

Atlanta  4  LA Dodgers  2  (Saturday)

The Braves won the NLCS 4-2 to advance to the World Series for the first time since 1999. Atlanta will visit the Houston Astros in the first two games on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Astros also took the American League Championship Series in six games, skunking the Boston Red Sox 5-0 on Friday.
