The Prince George Spruce Kings split their home doubleheader against the Trail Smoke Eaters.

The Spruce Kings won the Friday game 5-3 before the Smoke Eaters came back to score a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

Rowan Miller snapped a 3-3 tie by scoring his second goal of the game on the power-play with just 2:42 left in the third period before 1,000 fans at the RMCA.

The (8-4) Spruce Kings play their next two games against the (3-4-3-1) Vipers: Wednesday in Vernon and Friday in Prince George.

The Capitals were missing Keagan Goulet, Brooklyn Hutchings, and Hailey Armstrong, all of whom helped B.C. claim gold at the Western Regional Women’s Under-18 Championship in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. In Saturday’s final, Armstrong scored the game-winner in a 3-2 overtime victory against Alberta.

The (9-5-0-1) Capitals are in 1st place in the 5-team league by three points over the (8-0) Fraser Valley Rush, however, Fraser Valley has seven games in hand. The Capitals visit the (0-10) Greater Vancouver Comets Saturday night at 5:15 and Sunday afternoon at 12:15 in Richmond.

–The U17 Cariboo Cougars skated to lopsided victories (7-1 Saturday and 5-0 Sunday) against the North Island Silvertips on Saturday and Sunday in Richmond. The U17 Cats are 4-5-0-1 and in 7th place.

–The U15 Cariboo Cougars lost 3-0 (Saturday) and 3-1 (Sunday) to the Greater Vancouver Canadians in Richmond to see their record fall to 3-7-0-2.
