A new musical is coming to Theatre Northwest today (November 18th) and going to December 8th.

The Off-Broadway hit The Marvelous Wonderettes is being put on, and will have 30 classic songs from the ’50s and ’60s like:

  • Lollipop
  • Dream Lover
  • Stupid Cupid
  • Lipstick on Your Collar

The majority of the cast and creative team, and all of the band feature local Prince George artists, and Assistant Director Anna Russell said this a great musical to kick off with.

“It’s the perfect kind of show to come back with. We’ve got lots of entertainment, and lots of songs, and lots of dancing, and lots of colours, and lots of fun.”

Russell said people will find many of the songs familiar, and that this will take them on a trip down memory lane.

“It’s definitely feel good. We’re definitely bringing lots of joy and happiness and memories. Anyone who remembers these songs, even myself, I didn’t necessarily live through this era, but these songs are all very familiar to me.”
