City Councillor ending a 5 year overseas program

One Prince George city Councillor will be making his way overseas this Friday.

As Garth Frizzell makes his way to Cambodia and Vietnam to help conclude a five year partnership which aimed to see economic development by the Canadian Federation of Municipalities, which was looking to see how Canadian Municipality practices would be adapted in these countries.

Frizzell says this trip will see closure for a project which has been very successful so far:

“After 5 years we are going to be talking about where those successes have been, and how they are planning to keep those successes rolling and to keep our relationships going”

Frizzell says this project wasn’t about the development of infrastructure, it was about sharing a structure of government that will see success.

He says seeing the changes in these countries has been gratifying, and he hopes to do the same with a new 5 year project planned in Colombia and Peru.
