PG’s unemployment rate tumbles to 5.4% in November

The Prince George economy took a huge step forward in November according to the latest Stats Can Labour Division Survey.

The city’s unemployment rate came in at 5.4%, a huge drop from October where it was 6.9%

Analyst Vince Ferrao told MyPGNow.com the number of people employed held steady.

“In November, we had 52,500 people working and in October we had 52,700 so not much of a change. When compared to November of 2020 we had 53,800 (people working).”

In BC, the jobless mark was 5.6% seeing no change from October.

The nation’s unemployment rate came in at 6%, a drop of nearly a point where it was 6.7 in October.

Canada added 154-thousand jobs to its economy last month.
