Local physicians aiming to curb obesity trends

The issue of obesity is prevalent in Prince George and local doctors want to change that fact.

Nationally, one in four adults are obese, with the numbers for children about 1 in 10.

Dr. Bill Clifford says while they don’t have specific figures, its definitely becoming noticeable:

“Surprisingly physicians are not measuring as much on a regular basis as we would like to be able to reliably know, as you can see even with the adults its a work in progress, [and] we are rising to the challenge to get the appropriate measurement rate to see where we are at”

Clifford says local doctors hope to work with the city to encourage more healthy active options for the community and says this includes the frequent use of parks, trails and improving sidewalks.

Something going on in the Prince George area you think people should know about?
