Prince George RCMP warn about road conditions as 2 semis get stuck on Peden Hill

Prince George RCMP are asking residents not to travel if you don’t have to.

Cpl Jennifer Cooper said they are out directing traffic as two semi trucks got stuck on Peden Hill.

“Prince George RCMP are just on Peden Hill heading westbound with two stuck semi trailer trucks, they are trying to get them up the hill, but traffic will be down to single lane for a little while.”

She added that the weather conditions are bad, and people should take extra care.

“Make sure you do have your headlights turned on, especially as it’s getting darker. If you don’t have to travel we’re asking people to stay off the roads. If you are travelling tonight (Tuesday), even just getting some last minute Christmas shopping done, give yourself extra time, leave extra space between you and the vehicles around you, and please keep an eye out for pedestrians.”

According to Environment Canada, we should expect 5-10 cm of snow tonight, and another 2-4 cm tomorrow.
