Lambda Cabaret still facing penalties following easing of restrictions

As of 11:59 tonight (Wednesday), bars and night clubs will be allowed to reopen in BC, including one that was ordered closed here in Prince George.

Yesterday, Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that a number of COVID-19 restrictions were being lifted, including restaurants, bars and nightclubs being able to go back to full capacity.

According to Northern Health, these businesses will still be required to have COVID-19 safety measures in place, such as proof of vaccination, masks, and having a COVID-19 safety plan in place.

This includes Lambda Cabaret in Prince George, that was ordered closed for non-compliance on February 9th.

“The current Lambda Cabaret closure will effectively expire with the changes to those provincial restrictions this evening,” said Northern Health Spokesperson Eryn Collins.

“Our public health team will be continuing to pursue enforcement and related penalties for any recent non-compliance and be monitoring for compliance with the public health orders that are going forward and taking any necessary enforcement action to reduce any risk to public health.”

The nightclub was also issued a warning letter in September of 2021 regarding proof of vaccination and masks in indoor public spaces.
