The Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser in Prince George is heading back to its roots.
The winter walk raises funds for homeless support with a goal of is $25,000.
As of today (Friday), nearly $24,000 had been raised.
“Because of COVID, we were unsure of how we were going to be able to facilitate the event this year,” said AWAC Executive Director Connie Abe.
“Last year we had to a virtual event, in previous years we were able to in-person events, which raised quite a bit of money.
The event will be in-person which will start at 1145 2nd Avenue.
“We’ll start off there, we’ll end there, there’ll be food, prizes, and deserts for the walkers when they finish,” Abe explained.
At last year’s virtual event, around $24,000 was raised tallied.
Abe stated it’s never too late to join a team, create a team, or donate to an existing one. Donation at the Coldest Night of the Year website.
