Climate and Justice teach-in panels to be held by UNBC students

UNBC students in the Environmental Sustainability Capstone course will be hosting a series of teach-in panels on climate change.

Hannah Lawrence, one of the students in the course, said her group wanted to make a lasting impact on the school as they left.

The panels will have a discussion period to start, in which panelists will share their opinions on the topics. After that, the rest of the session will include discussion between the panelists, moderator, as well as questions from those in attendance.

Lawrence added that it’s open to the public.

“We’d love to have everybody to share, some like the Sustainable UNBC panel are definitely more geared towards UNBC, but it’s open to anyone to attend.

The topics that will be discussed include:

  • March 23rd: Socioecological climate impacts in Northern BC, Building a sustainable Prince George
  • March 24th: Addressing climate anxiety, Creating a sustainable UNBC
  • March 25th: Climate Justice Politics and Policy, Empowering Youth Climate Action

Some of the panels will take place on zoom, and in-person.
