BCHL:

Prince George Spruce Kings  3  Cranbrook Bucks  2

The Spruce Kings trailed 2-1 with five minutes to go in the third period but scored two late goals for the victory before 1,003 fans at the RMCA.

Prince George leads the best-of-seven first-round series 3-2 with the home team winning each game.

Game six will be played Saturday in Cranbrook with a 7th and deciding game if needed Monday in Prince George.

WHL:

The P.G. Cougars entertain the Victoria Royals Saturday night in their final regular-season home game.

The Royals play the Blazers in Kamloops tonight before heading to Prince George.

The Cougars are coming off Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to the Kelowna Rockets.

The (22-38-4-1) Cougars are 9th in the Western Conference, just a point behind the (22-36-5-1) Royals and the (23-35-4-0) Vancouver Giants and two back of the (23-37-4-1) Spokane Chiefs.

Vancouver has six games remaining, Victoria has four games left while P.G., and Spokane have three remaining.

The Giants host Portland tonight while the Chiefs play their next game Saturday in Seattle.

The Cougars, who have dropped 15 of their last 18, will close on the road at Kamloops on April 15th and at Kelowna on April 16th.

46-year-old Tiger Woods shot a 1-under-71 in his opening round at the Masters.

He started the day four strokes back of the leader (Sungjae Im at 5-under-67).

Top Canadian Corey Conners was three off the pace after starting with a 2-under-70.
