Some PG gas stations dealing with bad diesel?

Prince George’s Co-op gas bar location is seeing an uptick in drivers filling up.

This comes after customer reports of contaminated diesel fuel at the refinery.

Nathan Matiation is the Gas Bar Manager on Westgate Avenue who told MyPGNow.com they began to notice a spike in customers yesterday (Wednesday).

“We had about 20 phone calls of people asking all over town who were looking for diesel. Then, we just noticed everybody coming up here during the afternoon.”

“When we got our delivery on Monday, it had nothing with that type of gas that was delivered and it’s been quite busy with everybody and their diesel vehicles.”

Westgate Gas Bar Retail Division Manager Trevor Metcalf added they do get their fuel from the refinery, but the tests they’ve done show the fuel they received on Monday was not tainted.

“I believe the card locks are good as well. When we got our delivery, our general manager sent it out saying we were not affected by that gas at all,” added Matiation.

Co-op’s cardlock locations in PG are at 998 Railway Road (BCR) and 5520 Hartway Drive (Hart Highway).

Tidewater Midstream, who owns the refinery, has not responded to our request for comment yet.
