BCHL:

Penticton Vees  5  PG Spruce Kings  3

The Vees snapped a 2-2 tie with 32 seconds left in the 2nd period and added the winner at 8:09 of the 3rd before 1,005 fans at the RMCA.

P.G. outshot Penticton 35-32.

The Vees lead the best-of-7 Interior Division semifinal series 3-0 and will go for a sweep in Game 4 tonight at 7:00 in Prince George.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars visit the Portland Winterhawks Friday and Saturday in the first two games of their WHL Western Conference quarterfinal.

The best-of-7 first-round series will shift back to P.G. on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26th and 27th.

The (47-16-3-2) Winterhawks finished third in the conference, one point out of first and 46 points ahead of Prince George.

The (24-39-4-1) Cougars are in the playoffs for the first time in five years.

Prince George ended up 6th, beating out Spokane and Vancouver on a tie-breaker after all three teams finished with 53 points, one more than 9th place Victoria.
