Rolling Mix Concrete Arena naming rights end

The Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (RMCA) will now be known as the Prince George Coliseum.

That’s according to the City of Prince George, who announced the three-party naming agreement between them, the Prince George Spruce Kings, and Rolling Mix Concrete has finished.

An agreement was made back in 2016, which also came with financial and in kind contributions to the Spruce Kings.

The contract ended back on December 31st, 2020, but Director of Recreation and Events, Andy Beesley said the pandemic pushed back any major changes.

“We just kind of let the agreement lay where it was and really had just started to look at these things now that everything seems to be opening up again.”

Last month the Spruce Kings’ playoff run ended, so now City staff will be changing signage at the facility to its previous name.

“The City of Prince George extends its sincere thanks to Rolling Mix Concrete for its sponsorship and community partnership,” added Beesly.

“We are also very appreciative and supportive of the Spruce Kings, which is why we held off on officially changing the name of the facility until after the playoffs to avoid any confusion.”

In terms of whether a new name could be on the table for the coliseum, Beesly said they are looking at naming rights for multiple buildings.

“The City certainly is looking at all of our different recreation facilities, the pools, the arena, the playhouse, that type of thing. And we’re certainly very interested in looking at potential for naming rights.”
