NHL: 

New York Rangers  6  Carolina Hurricanes  2

The Rangers win the series 4-3 to advance to the Eastern Conference Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning starting Wednesday night in New York.

The Rangers are 5-0 in the playoffs when facing elimination.

The Hurricanes finished 7-1 at home and 0-6 on the road in the postseason.

The Western Conference Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche will begin tonight (5:00 PT) in Denver.

WHL:

The 7th and deciding game in the WHL Western Conference Final will be played tonight (starting at 7:00) in Kamloops with the Blazers at home against the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The Thunderbirds are 4-0 when facing elimination in this year’s playoffs.

The winner will play the Edmonton Oil Kings in the league’s championship series for the Ed Chynoweth Cup beginning Friday night in Edmonton.
