Life is a beautiful ride: Bike Fest event to be held by PG Public Library tomorrow

The Prince George Public Library is hosting an event for bike lovers this weekend.

Bike Fest will be held outside the Bob Harkins Branch, downtown, in Canada Games Plaza tomorrow (Saturday) from 11-2 pm.

“Bike Fest is meant for every person of every skill level, from the bike enthusiast to the foodie! Come down and talk to the experts about what you need to start biking or grab some local trail maps and find your next adventure! Prize draws and delicious food makes this your perfect Saturday. With that much delicious food and being just down the road from the Farmer’s Market, this event is a great way to kick off summer and encourage people get outside!”, said Jen Rubadeau, the Prince George Public Library’s Manager of Communications and Engagement.

In addition, booths and demos from Caledonia Nordic, Cycle Logic, Gals n’ Gears Bike Club, Cops for Cancer, the Prince George Brain Injured Group, the BC Summer Games, and the Prince George Public Library as well as prizes from Ruckus, Koops, and the Prince George Brain Injured Group Society will be on hand.

Grizzly bear attack west of Fort Nelson leaves one with non-life-threatening injuries

The BC Conservation Officer Service says a grizzly bear attack near Fort Nelson left one man with non-life-threatening injuries.  According to a Facebook post from the Conservation Officer Service, the attack took place at 11:00 this morning near a remote, fly-in location approximately 110 kilometres west of Fort Nelson, where a group was working in the area. 

Final touches being made for Special Olympics BC Games

With a flag raising Monday, a Torch Run on Wednesday, an opening ceremony on Thursday, and competitions on Friday and Saturday, the Special Olympics BC Games are set to bring plenty of excitement to Prince George this week.
