Big Squeeze a big success for Big Brothers Big Sisters

“We had a goal of $10,000, and we have well surpassed that.”

That was Big Brothers Big Sisters Communications Manager Jane Gauthier talking about the success of the 10th annual Big Squeeze event.

Gauthier said over $12,000 was raised, and they were still waiting on some totals.

“The Big Squeeze title is given to Interior Savings Credit Union, they raised over $2,000 at their booth,” Gauthier said.

The bragging rights for the best tasting lemonade will be shared this year between Active Body Nutrition, who created a lemon meringue pie lemonade, and Origins Kitchen who made a strawberry jalapeno lemonade.

“We were a little bit surprised with the strawberry jalapeno, we were kind of nervous about it, but it ended up being a very good surprise,” Gauthier said.

The money is going to be allocated to the in-school mentoring program.
