The signature fundraiser for the UNBC Timberwolves will a have different feel to it this year.
Today (Friday), the varsity athletics program announced the 8th Annual Timberwolves Legacy Night, with Kaleb Dahlgren serving as the event’s keynote speaker.
This is the first time, the event will move from a breakfast to start the day, to an evening complete with craft beers, wine, appetizers, and entertainment.
A #1 bestselling author and university hockey player, Dahlgren is a survivor of the Humboldt Broncos accident that claimed 16 lives and left only 13 survivors.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Kaleb Dahlgren for what should be an incredible evening,” said Loralyn Murdoch, UNBC’s Director of Athletics & Recreation. “Kaleb is truly an amazing person. He has an incredible story. I can’t wait for everyone to hear from him and to learn from him.”
Every dollar raised during the fundraiser will go directly towards scholarships and bursaries for T-Wolves student-athletes.
“Every year, this event exceeds our expectations. Our goal is to find ways to improve and grow the event and its impact every year,” said Murdoch. “We really do rely on this event to provide scholarships and bursaries for our student-athletes, and the generosity of the community astounds me annually.”
Tickets will be made available on September 1st by clicking here.
Previous keynote speakers for the event include Hayley Wickenheiser, Pinball Clemons, Theo Fleury, Michael Landsberg, Jennifer Jones, Kady Dandeneau, and Jon Cooper.
