Corrigall withdraws from Mayoral race due to health concerns

Todd Corrigall has pulled out of the race to become Mayor of Prince George.

Corrigall announced this morning (Tuesday) he ended up in the emergency unit at UHNBC on the long weekend with some unexpected health challenges.

His campaign team said he has been admitted and remains in hospital for observation and further tests.

“I am extremely disappointed that we can’t continue my campaign of listening and learning from the community, and bringing change,” Corrigall said in a news release.

“I want to thank all those who have taken the time to talk, participate in our survey, volunteer, donate, or share their concerns about the future of Prince George. I believe in this community and wish all who have put their names forward for Mayor and Council well in the weeks and months ahead.”

With Corrigall’s withdrawal, the race to replace Lyn Hall as Mayor is down to four candidates; Terri McConnachie, Roy Stewart, Christopher Wood, and Simon Yu.

The municipal election will be held on Saturday, October 15th.
