One lucky fan will be walking away with a windfall of cash during a Prince George Cougars home game later this month.
Today (Monday), the WHL club, Spirit of the North Health Care Foundation, PG Community Foundation announced the first Mega 50/50 Jackpot of the season will take place on November 13th against the Vancouver Giants.
This will follow the “Community Heroes” game taking place the previous night. The entire weekend will be dedicated to celebrating local frontline workers and the effort they dedicate to making our community safe and enjoyable.
“We are all thrilled to be a part of this campaign highlighting what makes Prince George so special’ said Mindy Stroet, Director of Development, Prince George Community Foundation.
“When charities and organizations work together to support such an important cause, all things are possible’ echoed Aimee Cassie, CEO, Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
Funds will support mental health initiatives for our First Responders.
This includes RCMP Victim Services, Fire Fighters Charitable Society, and the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation.
The 50/50 winner is guaranteed to win $25,000 via Wood Wheaton Supercentre and tickets can be purchased right now through the Cougars 50/50 Society page.
In addition, an anonymous donor has purchased a total of 4,000 tickets for local first responders and community heroes to both games.
“Our staff and physicians have been through incredibly challenging times – we are very proud of the work they have done throughout the pandemic,” said Penny Anguish – Chief Operating Officer for the Northern Interior.
“I want to thank the donor who is providing this generous gift to our staff, medical staff and their families to attend these games.”
