Hudson Thornton led the team with a three-goal, three-assist night.

Only three Cougars were held off the scoresheet in last night’s scnheidering over the Royals.

The two teams will play again tonight in Victoria. (6:05 p.m.)

BCHL:

PG Spruce Kings  4  Trail Smoke Eaters  3

John Herrington played the hero late in the game, scoring the winner with just over a minute left, his second goal of the game.

Jordan Fairlie made 27 stops in the win.

The Spruce Kings head to Pentiction for a matchup with the (19-0) Vees tonight. (6:00)

The Vees shut out the Spruce Kings 4-0 in their only previous meeting this season.

Canada West Mens Basketball:

UFV Cascades  79  UNBC Timberwolves  75

It was a game of hot potato with the lead in a game that had 17 lead changes.

Fareed Shittu notched a double-double for the TWolves with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The two teams clash again tonight in Abbostford.

Canada West Womens Basketball:

UFV Cascades  68  UNBC Timberwolves  57

The Timberwolves started the game strong defensively, but were unable to stop the Cascades from finding their rhythm.

Alina Shakirova was a defensive menace for the TWolves, recording a program-record eight steals.

The two teams will play again tonight in Abbotsford.

NHL: 

Vancouver Canucks  4  LA Kings  1

Today marks the 20th time in NHL History a total of 15 games will be played on one day.

The Vancouver Canucks will be the only Canadian team idle today after last night’s win.
