The Prince George Cougars have started their six-game road trip on a winning note, toppling the Vancouver Giants 6-3 today (Sunday) with five unanswered goals before 2,908 fans in Langley.
The Cougars came into the third period trailing 3-2 and had yet to win while behind after 40 minutes this season.
They struck twice early in the third and never looked back, with goals from Cayden Glover and Koehn Ziemmer, and two late goals from Caden Brown (one into an empty net) to put the game out of reach.

The Cougars trailed twice in the game, Vancouver’s Ty Thorpe scored the game’s first goal under two minutes in, then the Cats found themselves down 3-1 halfway through the second period after allowing two powerplay goals on their first two penalty kills.
The comeback win continues a six-game winning streak against the Giants in the Langley Events Centre that dates back to last season – the last time the Cougars lost on the road in Langley was nearly a year ago on December 18th, 2021, a 3-1 score.
Brown led the way for the Cougars, with two goals and an assist.
Ziemmer snapped his seven-game goalless streak with a powerplay tally that would stand as the game-winner.
Chase Wheatcroft scored his team-leading 18th goal and also had an assist.
Thorpe had a goal and an assist in the loss.
Prince George outshot Vancouver 41-28 and went 3/5 on the powerplay, but only killed 1/3 penalties as the Giants scored twice with the man advantage.
Brown’s 5-3 goal was also scored one second after a Cougars powerplay had expired.
With the win, the Cougars improve to 14-11-0-0, while Vancouver falls to 10-12-3-2, third in BC.
Prince George now finds themselves three points behind the Kamloops Blazers (who have two games in hand) for first place in the BC division, and one point behind the Everett Silvertips, who lost 5-2 to Kelowna today, for fourth in the Western Conference.
The Cougars also improve their dominant road record to 9-3 – they are just 5-8 at home so far this season.
Their next stop on the road trip is a big one, the Cougars will be facing off against Everett (14-10-1-0) at 7:05 on Tuesday night.
The Cougars are 0-1 against the Tips this year, losing 6-4 in Everett on October 8th.
