WHL:
Two Prince George Cougars have been invited to Canada’s world junior selection camp.
Tyler Brennan and Cougars Captain Ethan Sampson are among 29 players, including 13 from the WHL, that will attend camp beginning Friday (Dec 9th) in Moncton, N.B.
Brennan is one of four goalies and Sampson is among nine defencemen looking for a spot on the team.
The IIHF World Junior Championship in Moncton and Halifax begins on Boxing Day with four games, including Canada taking on Czechia.

The (14-11) PG Cougars visit the (14-10-1) Everett Silvertips tonight (Tuesday) at 7:00.
This is the second game of a six-game road trip for the Cougars, who began with a 6-3 victory over the Vancouver Giants on Sunday.

Tom Brady tossed two touchdown passes in the last three minutes of the game to rally the (6-6) Bucs from a 16-3 deficit.
After 13 weeks, Philadelphia has the best record in the NFC at 11-1 followed by Minnesota at 10-2.
Buffalo and Kansas City are both 9-3 in the AFC but the Bills are currently the top seed because of their head-to-head victory over the Chiefs.

Justin Verlander has come to terms with the New York Mets on a two-year, $86.66-million deal.
Verlander won the American League Cy Young Award this year with the Houston Astros posting an 18-4 record with a 1.75 ERA.
Verlander’s $43.33M average annual value in his deal with the Mets is exactly the same as Max Scherzer’s, tying the highest in major-league history, source says. Verlander is two years, $86.66M. Scherzer was three years, $130M.
