Downtown Winterfest bringing back past favourites in return

Downtown Winterfest will be making its return this Saturday after three years.

Downtown Prince George Executive Director Colleen Van Mook said what’s new is that they’re bringing the event back.

“What we know is that some of the things that people like are the things that existed in the past,” said Downtown Prince George Executive Director Colleen Van Mook.

“Really it’s been a lot of work to just bring this event back, and we’re hoping that people are interested in supporting downtown and bringing their family for some Downtown Winterfest fun.”

Van Mook said a lot of the favourite events from years past will be making a return, such as the smores contest and the outdoor winter playground.

“We’re very excited that Peter Voglaar, who is a very well known ice and snow sculptor, is coming back to Prince George to help build our ice slide and our snow sculptures, our ice sculptures and the snow wall.”

Van Mook added the Legion will be having a pancake breakfast stating at 10:00 a.m.

The Winterfest will take place on Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m in the Veterans Plaza at City Hall.

More information on the Winterfest can be found here.
