Jansen Harkins of the Prince George Cougars is in Sunrise, Florida for the NHL Draft. Harkins is expected to be selected in the first round Friday night. He is ranked 15th among North American skaters.

Two other PG Cougars are ranked by Central Scouting.

Forward Brad Morrison is 124th among North American skaters and defenceman Tate Olson is 146th.

–The Prince George Cougars will play 25 of their 36 home games on weekends with 12 on Saturdays, 11 on Fridays and two on Sundays.

The Cougars open their 22nd WHL regular season schedule with eight of their first nine games on home ice starting with a doubleheader against the Everett Silvertips September 25th and 27th at CN Centre.

The Cats will host their annual Teddy Bear Toss game on Saturday, December 19th against Victoria in their final home game in 2015.

–Dawson Creek and Fort St. John will co-host the 2015 World U17 Hockey Challenge from October 30 to November 7.

The three Canadian teams – Black, Red and White – will be joined by the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Sweden and the United States, forming two groups of four teams.

All eight teams will qualify for the quarter-finals, with the winners advancing to the semi-finals, and losers facing off in placement games.

–The Cowboy Ranch Stylers hit the win column for the first time this year in their final game of the season in Prince George Senior Lacrosse. The Stylers edged the Quesnel Crossfire 13-12 to finish 1-11 and out of the playoffs. Matt Rochon notched six goals and three assists for Cowboy Ranch. The third place Crossfire fell to 5-6.

–The PG Senior Lacrosse regular season wraps up tonight (Thursday) in Quesnel as the Crossfire go against the second place BX Pub Bandits in a playoff preview.

The Bandits and Crossfire start their best of five semi-final series Monday night at 8 at Kin 1.

The unbeaten Westwood Pub Devils take on the Northland/Nissan Assault in game one of that best of five semi- final Tuesday at 8pm at Kin 1.
