SD57 Trustee by-election nomination cutoff Friday, five already in the race

Edit – 10:30 am Thursday – All candidates need to make an appointment with SD57 to submit their necessary paperwork.

There are only a few days left for people to throw their names on the ballot to become one of School District 57’s next trustees.

The nomination period, which opened on May 2, will close on Friday (May 12).

To enter the running candidates must complete their official nomination package, then return it to the district.

SD57 says submitting paperwork can include:

  • By Hand, Mail or Other Delivery Service to:
    • School District No. 57 Board Office
      2100 Ferry Avenue, Prince George, BC V2L 4R5
      Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There are currently five people who are in the running:

  • Lucille Duncan
  • Don Fitzpatrick
  • David Low
  • Shar McCrory
  • Heather McKenzie

The by-election will be held on June 17.

RCMP found a 61-year-old man unconscious in the driver’s seat of the SUV. Police and paramedics on the scene attempted life-saving measures, but the man tragically succumbed to his injuries, and police were unable to resuscitate him.
