Rain in the Peace Region is expected to decrease fire activity on the Stoddart Creek Wildfire.
According to BC Wildfire Service officials, winds are also expected to increase with the incoming weather system, with gusts of up to 50 kilometres per hour.
Crews are continuing to focus on containment and suppression efforts on the northern edge of the fire, which officials say has been the most challenging section of the fire operationally.
They added excellent progress has been mad on the northeast, east, and southeast flanks of the fire, and that limited uncontrolled grown has been observed since Thursday.
The fire grew slightly since yesterday (Sunday), and is now an estimated 29,327 hectares in size.
The Stoddart Creek Wildfire is one of three Wildfires of Note in the Prince George Fire Centre.
Close by, the Red Creek Wildfire remains at 2,947 hectares, while the Donnie Creek Wildfire has grown to 134,769 hectares as of Sunday.
There are 92 active wildfires in BC, including 23 in the Prince George Fire Centre.
