A family barbecue this weekend will host residents of the VLA neighbourhood here in PG.
The “Growing Safe Communities” event will take place at the Community Gardens on Milburn avenue, just off Victoria street.
Linda Parker, Community Policing Coordinator, says its all about community building:
“It’s an opportunity for the RCMP, Community Policing and Victim Services, and the VLA Enhancement Association, to connect with the residents of the VLA and really create that sense of community”
Parker invites the public out, and says the event runs Sunday from Noon till 2 pm at the Gardens. It will feature a barbecue, face painting, a fire truck display, and aboriginal story telling.
