Opera campers to perform at Knox Performance Centre

Fraser Lyric Opera is bringing Opera back to Prince George with a show at the Knox Performance Centre.

The show will feature students from their opera camp, which started earlier this week.

“It’s not a long time, but kids are great, kids observe so much and they already learned so much,” said Melanie Nicol, Artistic Producer of Fraser Lyric Opera.

“Our days feel really long in the best of ways because we are able to get a lot of learning done, even though it doesn’t seem like a long time, they’re going to be phenomenal on Saturday.”

This week’s camp is the only camp of the year, but Nicol said there’s plans to expand.

“This is our first camp back since covid, so we are sort of getting our feet underneath us again,” she explained.

“We will definitely be planning more camps for the future, probably next summer.”

Previously, camps were held during spring break and the summer.

Saturday’s show starts at 7:00, with tickets available at the door.
