Cops for Cancer holding kick-off event before departing on Friday

The annual seven-day Cops for Cancer Tour de North is departing from Prince George in two days.

Before they leave on Friday (September 15), the riders will be met by the mayor, other members of the RCMP, and more at a kick-off event at Heritage Elementary School, which the public is welcome to attend.

The riders will take part in similar events in Houston (September 18) and Prince Rupert (September 21).

Tour de North sees the participating RCMP members cycle from Prince George to Prince Rupert in the name of childhood cancer research and treatment.

Since its inception in 1997, nearly $50 million has been raised by Cops for Cancer events across Canada.
