Spruce Kings drop season opener in Salmon Arm

It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish.

The Prince George Spruce Kings dropped their first game of the season to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in front of 1,070 fans at the Shaw Centre.

Skogen Schrott was the lone goal scorer for the Spruce Kings in the 4-1 loss.

The Silverbacks vastly outshot the Spruce Kings 39-14.

Marcus Ouellet got the start in net, stopping 35 of the 39 shots he faced.

The Spruce Kings will host the Chilliwack Chiefs in their home opener at the Kopar Memorial Arena on Friday.
