BCHL:

Prince George Spruce Kings  5  Powell River Kings  4  (in Seattle)

Scott Cousins tallied his second goal of the game with just 2:50 left in the third period to snap a 4-4 tie.

The (3-3-3) Spruce Kings play their second game this week at the BCHL Showcase in Seattle tonight (Thursday 4:50 PM) against the (5-5-1) Nanaimo Clippers.

The next home game for P.G. will go on November 10th against West Kelowna.

WHL:

The Prince George Cougars begin a 5-game East Division road trip Saturday in Moose Jaw.

The Cougars are ranked 4th this week in the CHL Top 10.

The next home game for P.G. will be on Friday, November 10th against Red Deer.

NHL: (1 Wednesday game)

Washington  6  New Jersey  4

The (4-2) Vancouver Canucks host the (2-2-1) St. Louis Blues on Friday night at 7:00.

The Blues play this evening (Thursday) in Calgary.

The Canucks are the only Canadian team not in action tonight as there is a total of 11 NHL games on tap.

BC Elite Hockey League: 

The (7-2-1) U18 Cariboo Cougars host the (4-4) Vancouver North West Hawks this weekend at Kin 1.

The two teams play Saturday night at 6:30 and Sunday morning at 10:30.

The U18 Cougars are first and the Hawks are  6th in the 9-team league.

BC Hall of Fame:

The late Amanda Asay of Prince George is one of five athletes who will be inducted into the
BC Sports Hall of Fame, Class of 2024.

She is being joined by Justin Morneau (Baseball), Ryan Cochrane (Swimming), Cassie Sharpe (Freestyle Skiing) and Richard Zokol (Golf).

Asay died in January of 2022 following a skiing accident in Nelson.

At the time of her passing, she was the longest-serving member of the Baseball Canada Women’s National Team program.

 

NBA: (Raptors home opener)

NFL: 

Week 8 of the NFL season starts tonight (Thursday 5:15 PT) with (3-3) Tampa Bay at (4-3) Buffalo.

CFL: 

The (12-6) B.C. Lions are idle until they host the (6-11) Calgary Stampeders in the Western Semi-Final on Saturday, November 4th (3:30 PT).

The winner will play the (13-4) Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the West Final on Saturday, November 11th (3:30 PT).

The Blue Bombers visit Calgary Friday night (6:00 PT) on the final weekend of the regular season.

In the East, the semifinal on November 4th (Noon PT) will feature the (8-9) Hamilton Tiger-Cats at the (10-7) Montreal Alouettes.

Those same teams meet Saturday in Montreal (1:00 PM PT) followed by (15-2) Toronto at (4-13) Ottawa (4:00) in the last regular season game.

The Argos host the East Final on November 11th (Noon PT).

The 110th Grey Cup is set for Hamilton on Sunday, November 19th (with kickoff shortly after 3:00 PT).

The World Series will start in Texas.
