Coming off the heels of some rough moments on the road, the Prince George Spruce Kings dug deep and knocked off a fellow Interior Conference rival.
Two second period goals 13 seconds apart from Trent Ballantyne and Alexis Cournoyer led PG to a 3-1 victory on Friday over the West Kelowna Warriors in front of 1,062 fans at the Kopar Memorial Arena.
Jackson Krykostas opened the scoring for the Warriors at 19:17 of the first period.

Vanderhoof’s Linden Makow notched the insurance marker for the Spruce Kings 2:12 into the third period lighting the lamp past West Kelowna netminder Justin Katz.
Marcus Ouellet stopped 30 of 31 Warrior shots picking up the victory in goal for the Spruce Kings who improve to 4-7-3-0 on the season.
PG was outshot 12-1 in the third period and 31-20 overall. The Spruce Kings went 1-for-5 on the power-play while West Kelowna failed to score on three opportunities.
Both teams play again tonight at 6pm from the Kopar Memorial Arena.
