Housing leads development in October for Prince George

New houses led the way for Prince George in October when it comes to building permits.

According to a report that will be presented to Prince George City Council at tomorrow’s (Monday) meeting, the city issued 45 building permits last month worth a combined total of $19.1 million.

Ten of those permits were for new single-family dwellings, worth a combined $4.8 million.

There were also two new permits for multi-family dwellings worth a combined $4.2 million, as well as two new mobile dwellings.

So far this year (as of the end of October), the city has issued 352 permits worth a combined total of $146.4 million.

The biggest driver of development so far this year has been new residences, with 62 permits worth a combined $33.7 million issued for new single-family dwellings.

Other items to be discussed at tomorrow’s meeting include a project review of a Fire Services Training Site and a report on a proposed Arts Hall of Fame.
