Prince George RCMP investigating shooting incident in Moccasin Flats

The Prince George RMCP is investigating a shooting incident on the 500-block of Ottawa Street in Moccasin Flats.

Mounties were called to the area at around 8:30 this morning (Friday) on a report of a gunshot.

“A man was located at that location suffering from a serious gunshot wound. Multiple police units, including Frontline police officers, Police Dog Services, and the Investigative Support Team, immediately flooded the area to search for possible suspects,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

“Emergency Health Services transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.”

The RCMP’s Serious Crimes Unit has taken conduct of the investigation.

Mounties say investigators, including the Forensic Identification Section, will be at the location for most of the day.

The public is asked to stay out of the area while police conduct their investigation.

Officers are also looking to speak with anyone who was in the area between 8:00 and 8:30 this morning and may have seen anything suspicious.

The investigation is in the early stages, and more details may be released as they become available.
