The City of Prince George has awarded $30,000 to non-profit organizations through the annual Celebrate PG Grants.
The money is to help groups improve existing, or create new public events.
The five recipients are:
- Prince George Symphony Orchestra, for the Pops in the Park event
- Northern BC Queer Connection Society, for the Pride Picnic event
- Method Dance Society, for the Community Moves event
- PG Folkfest, for Coldsnap
- Wild About Outdoors Learning Society, for the Wild About Lheidli T’enneh/Prince George (WALTPG) outdoor festival
“This will elevate the entertainment aspect of the annual pride picnic and contribute to Prince George’s growing reputation as a 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly community,” Laura Binette from the Northern BC Queer Connection Society said in a release.
