Downtown Prince George’s annual winter celebration is right around the corner.

Winterfest returns a week from today (February 17th) from 11:00 – 4:00 in the Canada Games Plaza outside of the Civic Centre.

“There is going to be so many different activities and lots fun!” Colleen Van Mook, the Executive Director of Downtown PG told My PG Now.

The day will include:

  • Ice slides and sculptures
  • Winter games
  • A smore competition
  • A pancake breakfast and lunch at the Legion
  • An outdoor food court
  • Street hockey
  • A mini rail

And much more. You can find a full list here.

“We have been hosting Winterfest since 2017,” Van Mook said, adding 2021, and 2022 were canceled due to the pandemic.

“We hope lots of people come out, in the past we have seen thousands. It is a five hour period, there is lots of time to enjoy everything,” she said. “Having that community spirit, it is a great opportunity for people to come down and enjoy winter.”
