Vancouver-based Portuguese Consulate hosting document renewal sessions in PG

The Portuguese Consulate in Vancouver will be in Prince George later this month.

On February 24th and 25th, members of that community within the city and local area can get services from the Immigrant and Multicultural Services Society on 2nd Avenue.

Claudia Barreira is on the board of the Portuguese Cultural Society in Prince George who says the area’s Portuguese population is a little bigger than one might think.

“Just as members, we have about 230 members registered in our Portuguese Cultural Society – but the number of Portuguese living in the area is over a thousand.”

She added the two-day service will also serve a dual purpose.

“The council is also trying to connect with some other people like the mayor and the project development managers of the city because he is trying to attract the Portuguese industry to invest in the city.”

Anyone needing to renew Portuguese documents or apply for Portuguese citizenship should contact the consulate directly for an appointment via email at [email protected].

The hours for these services is as follows:

Saturday, February 24th:
1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Sunday, February 25th:
9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
