The UNBC Timberwolves women’s basketball recruiting class will include a forward from Coquitlam.
Head Coach Sergey Shchepotkin announced today (Wednesday) Avin Jahangiri has committed to the program.
Jahangiri, who is set to graduate from Dr. Charles Best Secondary School is averaging 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks for the Blue Devils.
In December, she captured MVP honours from the Deb Phalen tournament and has received numerous Player of the Game awards during her final season of high-school ball.
“I chose to commit to UNBC because I think this team is one I can fit into. The program can help me grow as a basketball player and a person,” remarked Jahangiri who also plays basketball at the club level for Dan Nayebzadeh and Jessica Castillo at Excel Basketball.”
“Academically I like that the classes at UNBC are small and the programs are strong and can really help me with my career.”
Jahangiri has applied to UNBC’s Biomedical Studies program with the goal of becoming a Physiotherapist.
