UPDATE: PG Mounties arrest carjacking suspects after incident in the Hart

The Prince George RCMP noted both suspected wanted in connection with the carjacking have been taken into custody.

Investigators have updated the involved elementary schools with the same information.

The Prince George RCMP are searching the North Kelly Road area for two people believed to be involved in an armed car-jacking early this morning (Wednesday).

The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m., when two people were robbed of their vehicle by two unknown men with firearms.

The vehicle was located by police and was abandoned a short time later.

“We currently have Frontline police officers, a Police Dog Services unit and the RCMP helicopter searching for these individuals. The North District Emergency Response Team is also en route to provide support in this investigation. These men are believed to be armed and dangerous. We are asking that if anyone in the area sees anything suspicious or believes they have seen these two individuals, to immediately call 9-1-1 with the information,” stated Cpl. Jennifer Cooper.

Police officers have notified the nearby elementary school of the ongoing search in the area.

The investigation remains ongoing.
