Early opening date set for Park Drive-In

It may be the longest Drive-In season Prince George has ever seen.

The Park Drive-In Theatre is opening its gates for the 2024 season on Friday (March 15) – the first day of spring is not until Tuesday (March 19th).

Warmer weather and snow melt have allowed for the theatre to open – though the other activities offered at the site, like Go-Karts and Minigolf, will not be available until the snow is all clear.

“Last year was our first year,” Moby Amarsi, the now one-year owner of the Park Drive-In, told My PG Now. “We had to find a manager, we had to find help, it was difficult to do. Last year we were able to put together a good team, now we are set.”

Looking back on last year, Amarsi said the Drive-In had “a very good reception from Prince George residents. They were very happy to see we were open regularly.”

“We would like to thank them for their participation and their encouragement. That is very important, when you are doing something and your customers like it you know you are on the right track,” Amarsi said.

He also promised numerous additions and improvements to the business this year, including a new website, a full new fleet of Go-Karts, and the introduction of axe throwing and archery alongside their minigolf course.

Those activities will be available on the weekends later in the spring, then every day throughout the summer starting in June.

The move season will open with a 7:30 showing of Dune 2 on Friday. Tickets are only available at the gate for this show.
