WHL:

Prince George Cougars  6  Victoria Royals  1

Hudson Thornton notched four points, including a pair of goals.

The Cougars are on a franchise record 15-game point streak. (13-0-1-1 in their last 15 games)

It was also their 45th win of the season, which ties a franchise record.

The Cougars (45-15-1-3) are on top of the WHL’s Western Conference, one point ahead of the Portland Winterhawks. (45-15-2-1)

The Winterhawks dismantled the Tri-City Americans, winning 11-1.

Portland has a game in-hand over Prince George.

The U18 Cariboo Cougars season is on the line today after falling in overtime yesterday.

BCHL:

Merritt Centennials  6  Prince George Spruce Kings  3

Scott Cousins scored a pair for the Spruce Kings in the loss.

The Spruce Kings are at the bottom of the BCHL’s Interior Division standings, and will get into the playoffs because there are only eight teams in the division.

They will likely play the Penticton Vees in the first round playoffs.
