Miracle Theatre’s “A Comedy of Tenors” extended to Sunday

Enthusiastic audience response to Miracle Theatre’s production of A Comedy of Tenors has led to the production being extended to Sunday.

Performances will be put on every night starting tonight (Tuesday), plus a Sunday matinee.

“I don’t think we have ever had so many people tell us this is their favourite play,” said Producer Anne Laughlin.

“We’ve even had an unusual number of “frequent flyers”. That’s people returning to bring friends or relatives to see it.”

This year, Miracle Theatre is hoping to raise $180,000 to buy a structural protection unit to the City of Prince George.

As of March 31st, just over $119,000 has been raised through box-office, sponsorships and donations.

Prince George Fire Rescue Chief Cliff Warner says the play represents “unbelievable value providing attendees an evening of professional, high quality entertainment, and a production donation to a lifetime of community protection through the Structure Protect Unit, a trailer capable of protection of up to 75 homes carrying hoses, sprinklers and pumps.”

“People are having so much fun and leave in such a terrific mood,” said Production Director and Designer Ted Price.

“They also get a good feeling knowing they are helping to defend our city against wildfire.”

The performances are happening at ArtSpace, above Books and Company.
